Ipécom Paris, the reference gifted middle school in Paris 16, welcomes high-potential pupils into small classes with an accelerated and bilingual pathway.
Introduction
Ipécom Paris is a private lower-secondary school located in the 16th arrondissement and dedicated to gifted and talented learners—also known as high-potential pupils (HPI) or intellectually precocious students. We provide an academically demanding yet emotionally secure environment.
As a purpose-built gifted school in Paris, we deliver a fully personalised pedagogy that fuels curiosity, reassures parents and nurtures each pupil’s growth. Continuous monitoring, very small class sizes and transparent family dialogue are the pillars of our approach.
Our model attracts families from across Paris—especially the 16th—and the western suburbs (Neuilly-sur-Seine, Boulogne-Billancourt, Levallois-Perret) who seek a school combining academic excellence with genuine wellbeing.

Understanding High-Potential Learners
Roughly 2 % of pupils demonstrate advanced cognitive ability. Their IQ often exceeds 130, yet their heightened sensitivity and creativity require a tailored framework.
A gifted learner may get bored if the pace is slow or lose confidence if study skills were never taught. Every child is unique: some excel in mathematics, others in literature or the arts. Many are twice-exceptional, mixing high ability with a learning difference (dyslexia, ADHD…).
Ipécom Paris offers an environment that respects each learner’s uniqueness, stimulates intellect and safeguards emotional health.
A School Tailor-Made for Gifted Pupils
- Very small classes – daily individual attention.
- Accelerated, differentiated routes – see Flash and Éclair below.
- Positive, motivating ethos – curiosity encouraged, confidence rebuilt.
- Genuine parent partnership – regular meetings, detailed reports, open access to staff.
“Putting children in a year group solely by age is like making them all wear the same shoe size.” — Jean-Charles Terrassier
Innovative Double-Level Classes
Flash Class (Years 7 & 8 combined)
Two academic years completed in one. Perfect for pupils who master concepts quickly but need depth to stay engaged.
Éclair Class (Years 9 & 10 combined)
The same principle for upper-middle-school, with extra subject depth. Ideal for gifted teens ready for a demanding challenge or those needing a stimulating repeat of Year 10.
Each acceleration is optional and decided jointly with the family; no pupil is pushed to skip a year unless it truly benefits them.

Enriched Curriculum: Languages, Arts & Activities
Bilingual track (English-French) plus a Mandarin workshop.
Drama & public speaking – build confidence, manage emotions.
Sports and cultural outings – museums, science exhibitions, student-run radio.
Study-skills workshops – organisation, memory, note-taking.
Personal Guidance, Wellbeing & Digital Literacy
- Daily tutorial period – supervised homework, rapid support.
- Psycho-educational mentor – staff trained in advanced learner profiles.
- Anti-bullying programme – zero tolerance, empathy workshops.
- Responsible digital education – critical thinking, data privacy, algorithm awareness.
- Warm yet structured climate – clear rules, mutual respect, high expectations.
